I tried to grab some photos of the railroad, as I often do being one of those photographers. With that in mind I began my trek by walking 3 blocks west and then along the tracks toward downtown Portland. It took me a good thirty minutes and not a single train. This really grinds me the wrong way. I sit at home and hear trains about every 10-20 minutes, often every 5-10 minutes. It is a double track mainline right there, with a rail yard just south of here. Of course, my luck is I get nothing. This really irked me.
My plan tomorrow is to get up and see if I can't catch the morning Amtrak Cascades coming north into downtown. I'd like to catch that and then I'll try to head into town and see if I can catch maybe a freight or two. But as is said about plans, the best laid of mice and men.

So, there is the 80/20 rule. It really isn't a rule though, it is more along the lines of a theory. The only problem however with it being a theory is that it generally has been disproved. If there was ever to be a rule about who does the work, who does the thinking, who gets the rewards, etcetera, the numbers are much closer to 94/6 than 80/20. Simply put, 80/20 is way too damn kind to people.
So how about a 94/6 rule instead of an 80/20 rule. We can leave the 80/20 rules to the dust bin of mythic urban lore or something.
