Does it matter as long as the food is good? While strolling through the inter-tubes I decided instead of dwelling on all this negative news that people continually slur back and forth with preposterous ideals and blames, I figured I would look into something that is even more immediate, and generally more important, than the damn credit markets.
FOOD!
While twiddling about and twitting about and shizzowing about I found a few sites by follow a Sarah Keech's shizzow account. Funny, being that I don't even know how I actually clicked on her shizzow account, but I was glad I did.
The first site I stumbled upon was Stumptown Lunch.com. This seems to be Sarah's blog on lunch spots worth hitting up during the course of the work week, and on weekends too. As the description of the site states, "Reviewing the hip, cheap lunch spots in and around Portland, Oregon."
The second set of sites I found while figuring out more specifics about the premise of Stumptown Lunch were Urban Spoon and Sarah Keech's actual domain site. I've gotta say, I dig the sites. I read up a little bit, and the only thing that seems questionable about Ms Sarah is her infatuation with creepy people like James Carville and a love for anything Ewok. Maybe she doesn't like Anthony Bourdain and his ilk of foodies? Other than that Sarah has a really solid foodie critique going on, and apparently a real apt ability to get some web sites rolled that are informative and well put together. Good job Sarah.

On another note, very close to the grand topic of foods, Artisen Spirits has released their Apia and Martin Ryan Vodkas.
The Apia has a smooth honey taste, with a slight resonance after a sip. It goes well with a wide selection of mixes.
The Martin Ryan however is a Vodka for the more prepared. It has a warm hit to the palette, and goes well with some of the more brash mixings for the discerning mixed drink aficionado. This Vodka seems to take some of the most basic stronger mixed drinks and turn them into something that can be talked about.
Overall these two selections are awesome, and should be an ongoing part of any bar, personal or public, that serves the connoisseur of the finer things.
Keep an eye out, Artisan Spirits will be having multiple appearances, the guys at the distillery are great, and they're doing things that I promise you'll love. So check out the site, attend some of the upcoming events. While your out there around and about in Portland, make sure to also ask for Apia and Martin Ryan Vodkas if your favorite bar doesn't carry them.
