Read an article today that really sunk the situation into a beautifully Atlas Shrugged type of scenario. Now, mind you, we are nothing of the country we were when Atlas Shrugged was written, nor does the fact that everything in the book has pretty much taken place; Massive power outages in the north east, destruction of passenger rail, subsidization of almost all transportation, wealth redistribution on a massive scale, and now the nationalization of many major banks and corporations. All by a Government no more apt to success than the companies it has nationalized.
All the while us citizens look agast upon this maze of confusion, not seeing how bloody freaking obvious these course of events take us. We're losing freedoms, liberty, economic mobility, individualistic lives, individualistic thought, and quickly suppressing any hope to regain these things for the next several generations. I dread the children's future at this juncture in time, their fight will be 10x what ours currently is.
Hopefully it won't get as bad as in Atlas Shrugged even though the propsecting has been on the money so far, and I dread we move toward a more jack boot military type state. Well, off to enjoy some rare sunshine and conjure ways to fix these problems at my level of peon in society.
