We just watched the tail end of "Bewitched" on the east bound Amtrak Empire Builder.
As I've ranted for days and months and years and... scarily enough, decades on and on and on about how to repair and fix the transit situation in America. One statement is above and beyond all the others, being based on our history and idealogy, our capabilites and our accomplishments.
WE AS AMERICANS SHOULD NOT AND ARE CAPABLE OF A PRIVATELY OWNED, OPERATED, AND MAINTAINED PUBLIC TRANSIT SYSTEM ON ALL FRONTS; RAIL, ROAD, AND AIR.This is not a second class system, but above and beyond even the best of other countries. What are we doing? I do not know but something should be done about it. Initial investment HAS to be done and soon. We're falling behind other countries and it is ridiculous, there is
ABSOLUTELY NO REASON WHY AMERICA SHOULD BE BEHIND ALL OF EUROPE AND CHINA, JAPAN, KOREA, AND VERY SOON EVEN BEHIND PAKISTAN, INDIA, AND IRAN IN TRANSPORTATION CAPABILITIES.I'm sorry, and don't want to be negative, but when we fall behind Iran, China, and Pakistan in transportation choices, capabilities, and other scenarios it is truly a sad day. America has gone from the most intricate, capable, empowered, wealth generating, economically motivating, people moving, industry enabling transportation system to a we'll get by because we gotta follow all these dumb Government regulations and laws, but by god we'll get by until... ...something. It's really scary I must say, and I seriously hope with all hope that it doesn't directly start impacting the economy until I'm long dead. Because the day this stupid Government interference takes real effect on the economy, bad things, very bad things, horribly very bad things WILL happen.
Well this was just one of the little side entries I wanted to do. On the way back from Buffalo I'm hoping to get some serious work put in on my very own BLOG. Whether it's a mono-user (i.e. Just me) system or a multi-user I don't really care. I HAVE to get this done as I'm just going nuts waiting for it to be done. Plus I hate trying to post to all of these damn BLOGs (myspace, livejournal, blagh blagh blagh blagh).
My intention of course is to get mine done, then setup a factory (code base) that I can use to post to all of the BLOG entries.
