Transit Beer #2 @ Rose & Thistle

I'm sure Al has some video coming, me, I've just got rambling to do.  Overall Transit Beer #2 was fun and I finally got to put faces with names.  Thanks to PDXPipeline swinging out too.  It would definitely be awesome to get a purchase of the Streetcar Sponsership for one of those stops.

Good discussion and I look forward to next time.  In the meantime, here's some Al footage I found between starting this entry and finishing it.  Enjoy.

I had a good enough time that I wished I got there earlier. I went back to load up my backpack full of goodies and then had to go through the Rose Quarter after-event crowd.

To follow up on some of the things that I/others mentioned:
1. Regarding FRA weight requirements, Wikipedia says that the ex-locomotive cabs (used on the opposite end as the engine) on the Amtrak Cascades have cement weights in them.
2. The diagrams/maps I passed around are available at www.flickr.com/.../ There's alot of TriMet pictures and other stuff on my account there, too.
3. According to various TriMet documents I have, from 1999 to 2007 Line 15 (23rd) lost almost 37% of its ridership, from 4270 to 2700 a weekday. The question is whether the streetcar is responsible for some of that.
4. I've written regarding the proposed changes to Lines 6, 70 & 35 at PortlandTransport. See Sept. 26th posts there.

Interesting about the #15. I also am assuming that is primarily for the #15 in the north west, not the #15 on Belmont. After seeing it today the number one priority for Belmont should either be A: Long buses or B: Streetcars that can handle the capacity in a better, smoother, and less costly way.

I definitely do NOT see the #15 ridership decreasing. That neighborhood and street is one of the more sought out places in Portland and they have several hundred more living units along that route now. So no way that is decreasing.

I'll go check out your proposed changes to line 6 and 70.

Just want to follow up on a few things mentioned in Al's part 3 videos:

I had to go to the airport yesterday and I asked the TriMet customer service person who told me that they have someone out there every day.
